Tramis - Management tool for Transcription Jobs

Objective

The objective was to create an online tool where

• Audio/Video statistics-Automatically collects the uploaded transcription files (audio/video) statistics.
• Home page for admin panel- Administrator users can view the transcription files they have received and assign the tasks to transcribers and editors.
• User page for employees- Any employee can login to the site and view their own task assigned by admin panel and start their work that will automatically update the files current status in application.
• User page for Customers-view and upload (multiple) transcription files.
• Document statistics- Automatically collect the statistics for transcription documents prepared by employee according to their assigned tasks.
• Reports-Billed, Unbilled, file status and employee log details.

Solution

1.0 Audio/Video statistics

1.1 Developed a tool for watching (FileSystemWatcher) the upload folder and collect the statistics and inform the new entry to the user.  For this we have used the properties of a shell programming technology and FileSystemWatcher class.

5.1 The tool watching the document folder and whenever a new document is entered in to this collect the doc’s statistics with the help of using Microsoft office dlls.
